June 8, 2024 – Barangay Matina Aplaya, Davao City

In a powerful display of environmental stewardship and student leadership, the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) of LPU Davao organized a Mangrove Planting activity at Barangay Matina Aplaya, just below Coastal Road. The event brought together JPIA officers and third-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) students, united by a shared mission: to protect marine ecosystems and combat climate change.

With muddy hands and determined hearts, the Lyceans planted mangrove seedlings along the shoreline, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity and the strengthening of coastal resilience. Mangroves play a vital role in safeguarding marine life, preventing erosion, and absorbing carbon emissions, making this initiative a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability.
This green endeavor reflects LPU Davao’s commitment to holistic education — one that nurtures not only academic excellence but also social responsibility and ecological awareness. As part of its ongoing community engagement efforts, the institution continues to empower students to take action and make a difference beyond the classroom.
The event stands as a testament to the institution’s ARISE values and its dedication to shaping future leaders who are not only skilled but also socially and environmentally conscious.
