Academic Scholarships and Grants

Jose P. Laurel (JPL) Scholarship

The grantee is a freshman college student admitted into any of the following programs: BS Accountancy, BS Customs Administration, BS Medical Technology, BS Pharmacy, BS Psychology, BS Aeronautical Engineering, and BS Occupational Therapy.

Privileges and Duration:

The grantee is entitled to a 100% discount on tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory fees. 
The scholarship takes effect in the 1st trimester of the academic year and remains in force for the
program’s duration, provided the scholar meets the qualification criteria.
The scholar must be a regular student, enrolling in the required academic unit load each term as
prescribed in their program. They must maintain a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 1.75 (90-
92) or higher, with no grades lower than 2.00 (87-89) in any course.
Within two years after graduation, the scholar must take and pass the licensure examination of
their respective earned degree.

Sotero H. Laurel (SHL) Scholarship

The grantee is a Grade 11 student admitted into any of the academic tracks/strands of LPU Davao.

Privileges and Duration:

The grantee is entitled to a 100% discount on tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory fees.  
The scholarship takes effect at the start of the academic year and remains in force for the
program’s duration, provided the scholar meets the qualification criteria.
The scholar must be a regular student, enrolling in the required academic unit load each term as
prescribed in the academic track/strand curriculum. They must maintain a GWA of 92% or higher,
with no grades lower than 85% in any subject.
Upon completing Junior College, the scholar must enroll in a college program offered by LPU
Davao to continue their studies.
A Grade 12 student who meets the requirements for the SHL Scholarship will be placed on the
waitlist for the JPL Scholarship in college.

Awarded to incoming College or Junior College students who graduated With Highest Honors, With High Honors, or With Honors.

Privileges and Duration:

Open to incoming Grade 11 or college (freshman) students who graduated With Highest Honors/With High Honors or who obtained a final General Weighted Average (GWA) of 92.00 or higher. The GWA and honors must be certified by the school principal or registrar.
The applicant must not have previously been enrolled in any Senior High School (SHS) or Higher Education Institution (HEI).
Scholarship grants:
- 100% tuition fee discount for those With Highest Honors
- 50% tuition fee discount for those With High Honors
Coverage:
- One (1) year for incoming Grade 11 students
- One (1) term only for incoming College (freshman) students

Applicable to all college and Junior College students who qualify for Merit Scholarships, including those receiving internal or external financial assistance.

Privileges and Duration:

Scholarships are awarded to students who rank in the Top 3 per program per year level.
- Top 1: 100% tuition fee discount
- Top 2: 50% tuition fee discount
- Top 3: 25% tuition fee discount
For College students, grades from the previous trimester determine scholarship eligibility for the current term.
For Junior College students, grades from the previous academic year are used.
The scholarship is renewable every term (college) or academic year (Junior College) if the student continues to meet the qualifications.

Awarded to student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional skills and actively represent LPU Davao in official competitions.

Privileges and Duration:

Full Athletic Scholarship – 100% discount on tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory fees only.
Partial Athletic Scholarship – 80% discount on tuition, miscellaneous, and laboratory fees only.
Scholarships are awarded per term and may be renewed based on performance, discipline, and
adherence to scholarship conditions.
Student-athletes must maintain the minimum academic requirements set by the institution.

SIBLING DISCOUNT

Applicable to students with siblings enrolled simultaneously at LPU Davao.

Privileges and Duration:

First Sibling – 10% discount on tuition fee.
Second Sibling – 15% discount on tuition fee.
Third Sibling (and beyond) – 15% discount on tuition fee.
The discount always applies to the youngest sibling, even if they qualify for another scholarship
program.
If there are more than three siblings enrolled, the youngest three will receive discounts per the
structure above.
The discount applies only to tuition fee and does not cover miscellaneous or other fees.
A PSA issued birth certificate is required to verify sibling relationships.

STUDENT ASSISTANT

Provides financial assistance through a 100% tuition fee discount to qualified students rendering service to the institution while pursuing their studies.

Privileges and Duration:

The 100% discount applies on tuition fee.
The discount is granted each term as long as the student assistant remains eligible (criteria set by
HRDO).

COURSE CREDIT DISCOUNT

Granted to students who graduated from Junior College at LPU Davao, allowing them to receive credit for certain courses without extra charges.

Privileges and Duration:

Eligible students can receive credit for up to five (5) courses in their college program
While students must enroll in these credited courses, they will not be charged tuition fee for them
